Childcare and Babysitting at Disney World

Let’s face it, you brought the kids to Disney because Disney is an amazing place for kids. If you’re like me though, Disney is just as amazing for you as it is for your kids and there’s nothing like a date night in Disney with your partner. There’s only one problem, you didn’t bring the grandparents or your sitter with you. Luckily, Disney World has options. There are 3 childcare locations on site and there are other outside services to consider as well. Keep reading to find out more.

Pixar Play Zone

Located in the Contemporary Resort, the Pixar Play Zone is open nightly from 6 PM to 10:30 PM. Doors open at 5 PM for registration. Kids will participate in many fun activities with their favorite Toy Story, Cars, and Incredibles characters including a dance party, Star Command training, and a Piston Cup training simulator. Actual characters from Toy Story and the Incredibles do appearances every night. The cost is $65 per child for the night. Dinner is included! Children must be between the ages of 4 and 12 and fully potty trained. Advanced reservations are a must as space is limited! Call 407-824-KIDS.

Camp Dolphin

For kids ages 4-12, Camp Dolphin is a lot like Simba’s in that there’s no planned activities and it’s more of a free play environment. There are movies, crafts, toy, games, etc. out for the kids and counselors to supervise them. Children must be fully potty trained. The camp is located at WDW’s Dolphin Hotel and is open from 5 PM to 12 AM. If you use the spa or eat at the restaurant in the Dolphin Hotel you can get up to 2 hours of childcare for free. You cannot use your MagicBand for payment here though as it’s not an official Disney Resort. Advanced reservations are required. Call 407-934-4241.

In-Room Babysitting

There are 2 well-known options to pick from serving Disney World and the surrounding area. Both provide sitters over 18 years old that are are insured, reference-checked, police-checked, and trained in CPR. They can watch the kids in your room but if you would they can also take your kids to the parks (you’ll have to pay the sitters way of course).

Kid’s Nite Out

Sitters can be men or women and they serve all of WDW and Orlando-area hotels. The minimum charge is 4 hours and costs $18/hour for 1 child, $21 for 2, $24 for 3 and $26 for 4 children. There’s a transportation fee of $10 as well.  24 hour cancellation policy. Credit cards accepted for payment. Activities they will not do are transport kids in private vehicle, take kids swimming or give them baths. Call 407-828-0920 or visit kidsniteout.com for more info.

Fairy Godmothers

The service area is a bit more limited as they only cover within WDW and the immediate area surrounding. Sitters are all female, mothers, grandmothers or college students. They also charge a minimum of 4 hours. 1-3 children are $16/hour, 4 or more are $18/hour. There’s a transportation fee of $16. You can cancel as late as 3 hours before service without penalty. They do not except credit cards for payment. Cash or traveler’s checks only. They will not transport children or give baths. Swimming is at the sitter’s discretion. Call 407-277-3724 for more info.

Extra Hands

In addition to in-room babysitting this company also offer in-park care. In other words, one of their sitters will accompany you to the park to help you care and watch for your children while there. There’s also all Disney World enthusiasts and can help you find your way around the parks in general. Their rates for in-room or in-park care are $15/hour for 1 child, $16.50 for 2, $18 for 3, and $19.50 for 4. Sitters are men and women and are compromised of college students and graduates, teachers, medical professionals, and daycare workers. Click here to visit their website.

Super Sitters, Inc.

Like Extra Hands they also offer an in park helper service as well as the in room babysitting. Their sitters will come to your room with a bag full of age appropriate toys and activities for the kids which is a nice touch. 4 hour minimum required. Credit card is accepted. You have to call them for current rates but my internet search has revealed they’re pretty much in line with every other service. Call 407-382-2558 or visit their website at super-sitters.com.

  1. Simba’s Cubhouse, Lilo’s Playhouse, and the Sandcastle Club are all closing next month. We are considering Pixar Play Zone for our next trip. The amount of activities + food included for the kids is awesome!
